id say bad bad idea unless your going to eurobrace afterwards
my 46 center brace broke and i got like a 1/4 inch maybe, but kept it running for a bit then got scared and took her down i wouldnt want 125 gallons on the floor
I have seen lots of people cut the braces off and replace them with thick acrylic pieces bolted on with vinyl nuts and bolts. Just make sure the lights are not too close to the acrylic, as they could melt the brace.
If you are doing this to a full tank....you could use clamps to keep bowing from occuring while working.....
