Top down pics. (image intense)

This first pic is with 10k reeflux. The second is with 10k ushios. The reeflux really highlights blues but some of the other colors get washed out. When I had the ushios, all my corals had outstanding color. I run icecap ballast.

Notice the difference in the pink in this coral. With the ushio, it has a purple base with baby blue polpys and tips. With the reeflux, it's base is pink with pink polpys.

I am running the reeflux 10k, but I like the ushio 10k's better.

I am trying out the Reeflux 10K on the Coralvue Electronic Ballast. So far so good, the corals are responding and it has only been 8 days, especially the Milli's.

I am also trying out the Reeflux 12K on an HQI ballast, The color appearance looks good, but my corals seem to be responding a little better with the 10K. There are so many good bulbs out there and hard to x\choose from :) Ushio and XM 10k are next. I have always used 20k, so you can say I am experimenting.

Thanks for the insight, I feel even better about the Reeflux;)

It looks white for sure, but it seems a little dim. Definately a really clean look, for sure. Is this pretty close to how it looks in person? IME, my corals seem to do better with my lights higher rather than lower, so intensity doesn't seem like a factor. Whatever works best, right :)

Were your Ushios brighter? I'm sure XM's are brighter for sure. Whatever gases are mixed in the Reeflux, it seems to be getting the job done, wether it's bright or not. This makes it even more difficult to choose and stay with 1 bulb:eek2:

It seems brighter in person. More like this pic.

Here was my tank with the ushios.

The Ushios definitely look brighter. I was trying to compare colors on corals but it looks like you have been doing some aquascaping :) But is seems that the Reeflux brings out more of a red than orange on the cap and a darker pink rather than a cotton candy pink on the Prostrata. At least that's what my old eyes see. Either way, the tank looks nice and white. Have you tried URI Actinic VHO's? I too use D&D T-5 on some tanks and for me the color is better with the URI VHO.

I haven't used the vho's with mh, just the t-5's. As for the re-aquascaping, I had a tank crash while out of town.

? It is grown here locally with vho bulbs. He has outstanding growth and color with just vho's. Makes me want to try all T-5's on my tank.

what happened in the tank crash?? dolphins need a qb. until I moved to tampa id been a season ticket holder for 10 years

I cleaned my top off bucket and forgot to plug it back in. The next day my buddy came over and my return pump which sits in a five gallon bucket had run dry. I had a rio pump in the bucket with the return pump so it ran dry to. I walked my friend threw getting the tank back up. Well the tank declind from there. When I came home 2 weeks later it looked like that. The rio pump had busted open and spewed oil and what not in the tank. I lost a bunch of corals as you can see, but I saved about half the tank.

Hey man looks good!! Hope those frags are doing good for ya. How's that little Tenuis? PS sweet prostrata makes me miss my baby (the victim of acro flatworms)

Ouch! I was going to ask for a frag of that coral. I did the fresh water dip and I hope I got everything off. The tenius browned a little, which I think came from the fresh water dip. I should be alright in week or two.

sounds good. And don't worry i was able to save a few frags of it and it's turned more blue than the picture :D i'm sure i can keep a frag around with your name on it.
