Top down shots

Stunning Ed!
That raspberry table is very funny.
Love the wolverine. For the life of me, I can not get a wolverine/pikachu/Pink Floyd to be happy in my tank.
Is that the tdf in the portal shot with the blue stag?

Thanks Matt........yes, that's the TDF & Sky blue Hoeki to the right.

That Aussie Woverine pictured above didn't start pulling yellow tips or the purple till I moved it up higher.

I had the chance to stop by Big E's over the weekend. Always a pleasure to see the collection in person, things were looking great!

Ed, what is the pink/red coral on the left of the first porthole picture? Is that the red gecko?

Ah yes, the tough to frag Tierra del Fuego! Well that and the Red Gecko on my my wish list. Ed, I have been trying to resist coral temptations while the home addition is underway, but stopping by your place gave me a bad case of coral fever.

Just stopping by his thread gives me coral fever!
Ed if I saw your tank in person, I’d have trouble resisting jumping right in!

Ed,

Fantastic Photo's. Those Portal Shots are great!
All your SPS are beyond Beautiful.
Memorizing. Hypnotic to look at.

Wow!!!
with out words to express how amaized I am by your way of nurturing sps.

Ed,
It seems to me that you experiment a lot with placement of sps. At the same time in previous questions you have expressed that you have to give coral time with out moving them from their position and allow new sprouts to regard you with the color for not moving them

How do you know when it is time to move it?
how big of a move did you do for this wolverine? how many inches up did you moved it? I would like to have a feeling of how big of a move up in one step can you do with a acropora

I have one horrida LOW at 6 inches from the bottom of my tank.
It is getting better color in dt with my halides than the color it had in my frag tank with leds. This coral needs medium to high light. I have had it in same place for 3 weeks now. I placed it low to aclimate for light.
Should I keep it is same position or should I move it up?

Thanks for teaching us

Thanks, I feel the same way about your tank....so many nice pieces I'd like to have.

Thanks Jorge!

I moved the Wolverine up about 3 inches. I didn't move it for about 3 months.

If the Horrida colors look good you can leave it there. I had to move mine up as the white polyps started to turn brown.

Most corals I have a good idea where they'll do the best but newer wild corals or a coral I'm not familiar with I may have to move.

Lol, I know that coral fever well. Check your pm.

Ed, can I bring my 240/and equipment up 71north and drop it off to you for your care?

Those pieces look great man, I plan on getting up to get some from you soon I hope. I k ow we had talked about it previously but then randomly I came home to 4 or 5 bleached out frags and others doing great. So, I wanted to wait until it appeared everything was stable again.

Ed, I wish I could move next door to you. Then I could get rid of my tank and visit your colorful tank every so often. I have to admit that no matter what I do to my tank I can never get half as good as yours.Sigh!

Growth is amazing Ed. On everything.
What’s the coral bottom left in first shot?
Love that blue tenuis

Thanks Matt, that coral is what I call the Blue Cardinal.
It's a bit unique as there isn't a lof of acros that have blue skin and red coralites and polyps.

Here's a one year growth comparison to today..........it's about 5" across now.

I just jumped over to your tank thread as I thought you were being too hard on yourself and I was right................your last group of pics look sweet:thumbsup:

Thanks, hmmm........I was thinking of moving it down as the blue skin is fairly light. I occasionally see the purple tips.

I've got to move a few other gems I got from you to the display as they went into stunt mode in the frag tank.

Wild Superman.......this coral is one of the most difficult corals I keep. It's doing well now ...........fingers crossed.
