Yikan's bulbs were over 14 months old when I bought his corals. He was running 20K 150W bulbs with no actinic. All the bases had been in and out of the water so many times from all the fraging everything was brown. It took a few months for the corals to start coloring up. I recently changed to the 10K reeflux bulbs and added actinics also (before I was using hamilton 14k) I have see drastic color change in all my corals over the last week but this particular one has stayed the same. I am thinking about moving the coral lower in the tank and see what happens.
Heres mine!, thought I'd jump in and share. I got my from Tyree when he was here speaking to my local club. He told me to put it as high in the tank as I could, I have 2 400w radiums. the coral is about 8-10" under the water and the lights are about 9" above the water. Total 18-19" from lights max. Got it in Aug. and it has grown some but I don't think I'd call it a fast grower.
Looks good Michael. If Steve said high light I'll leave mine up high. I agree with you about the growth rate though not very fast at all. Mine has laid down a nice 1 inch base on the rock he is sitting on though.
