Hello! I am not new to the hobby, but am setting up my first big custom tank (300 gallon). I am in the process of getting equipment, and am having trouble finding CLEAR water containers to hold my RO/DI and new saltwater. I am looking for 50 gallons or higher per container. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Matt

Why does it need to be clear? I've never seen a 50g clear container fwiw see thru yes but clear no. .

Why not use Brute cans like most of us do (best easiest/cheapest option) or spend the money on a large water storage barrel..

Anything pvc/hdpe will do fine and there is plenty of places online.. Just type in potable water tanks and go from there.. They are expensive to buy and ship but do look nice when set up and come in all shapes and sizes.

You can also use rain barrels usually sold used on Craigslist or similar.. I've got 2x olive barrels I need to clean out to use they are 55g each and I paid $80 for 2 locally.

Clear is also see through to me; lol. I just would like to be able to see how many gallons are left inside the top off and saltwater bin. My mixing stations will be up a little higher so I need to be able to have see through so I can know when to fill up the RO, etc.

White poly works. Ditto the 32 gallon RUbbermaid Brute trash containers: those are large enough you can sort of plan them into your month, though you can't see through them.

I think they mean they need to be able to see the water level from the side as they won't be able to look down into the container at their location.

i actually went and got another glass tank for my top off container.

i purchased mine mainly for the footprint. its measurements fit perfectly inside a stand i want, and allow for maximum volume.

Me too. I have a 29 gallon ATO/KW tank sitting beside the sump under a 180 tank. I can tell at a glance if the ATO is getting too low.

Good luck,

Mike
