Topics for 2012 Meetings

I have a couple of ideas for some meeting topics for the new year.
Back in March of 2009 I gave a presentation on Quarantining Corals/Fish, building a simple QT system, dipping methods, lighting and traps. i would love to do an updated talk the first part of 2012.
Maybe we can have someone come and talk about LED's. Maybe David from Kessil.

I also have an idea for a reef club study group within the club. I have some of the info about that on my blog. A coral feeding study and a growth study. I took a MACO class on coral biology with Eric Borenman and some of the labs we did were pretty fun I want to kind replicate some of them with a reef club study group. I like the dipping and QT topic and wish I had been more diligent in those areas when I was getting started. It would have saved me a lot of hassle with pests.

I would love to see some good LED demos. Only time I've seen one in action was over your cube, and that was a first gen I believe. I'm sure there are new color temps and and wattage available now.

Yeah there are lots of companies manufacturing LED's. I'm starting to my hands on some. It's an exciting time in lighting.

I like the ideas. We got away from doing topics because the club members have been busy doing other things, now that they are back lets have topics for our meetings again.

I am getting LED for Christmas so I love the LED idea also. Dipping and drugs is another good one. Dipping/pests and drugs should be done before our frag swap?
