June = LUCKYAUBC Brownsville

July = SPEERY Whiteville

August = Scarson61 Oxford

September = Neuroslicer Mempis

October = REEFDIVER77 Jackson

November = Dzones

December = more then likely the Christmas party

As you can see we are doing really well in getting members in line to host the monthly meetings. Now lets start working on the other difficult part of the meetings; the topic. Is there anyone out there that has a burning question or topic they would like to have discussed? If so please submit them, I will then keep a list of the suggestions and then ask the host/hostess of that moths meeting if they have a topic in mind or if they would like to use of that has been provided as a suggestion.

Well I have now come to yet another bridge in our meeting schedule quest. That is finding a qualified person that will be able to help lead discussion in some detail. We at one time had what I called our resident experts in the hobby that came to our meetings and would help all of us newbes out. I understand that changes to people’s schedules and lives have prevented this from happening but they are missed. I learned a great deal during those first few moths and will always be grateful to those that were around to help out.

Sorry got off on a tangent, back to the point.

We need topic suggestions and people that can help lead the discussion. Just because you suggest a topic dose not mean you have to talk about the topic. Let’s get some suggestions and then we can figure out how to get a person to talk about them.

My suggestions.

June -- Elections (it will be a formality vote unless some thing changes with the nominees), what a cool house Robert has, cookout, ??????

July -- Nanos!!!! All things under 29gal, lighting, stocking, temp control, husbantry, why you can't keep a tang in a 12gal.

August -- Fragging/coral propagation, how to set up frag/grow out tanks, oooos and ahhhs over the newest Carson.

September -- SPS how to make the colored sticks look good, feeding, care, water quality, flow.

Being the newest member to this club and probably to the hobby, I am open to any and all topics as I am completely reef illiterate. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you and picking everyones brain a little (as if I haven't worried everyone to death already). I am plannning to attend the yard sale if any way possible to meet everyone and drool over all the goodies that I really don't need to buy due to my tight budget(i.e. BROKE) lol. but I can bet I'll see something I won't be able to live without reguardless.

also September is MACNA and I know some of the members are attending that as well (Sept 5-7). Myself included.

I think a good topic would be feeding, lighting, and current requirements of the more common corals. Maybe more focused on things a newbie would keep in his tank. So more specifically, what to start off with and how to keep it happy.

Are you going to have a September meeting since the Frag Swap is that month?

I think we should have one before the frag swap to make sure we are all set for the frag swap.
