Topless setup or Canopy setup - Need advice for Nanocustom system

Good to know that the light doesn't spill over to the main display area, raastamon. Your tank looks fantastic. Thanks for your help. Oh, which fuge light are you using, how many watts is it, and where did you get it??

thanks for your help,

thanks alot eaglesrx, the light is a 25w that i got from fry's electronics... and it was like $7.99....im sure any electronics store would carry something similiar.

I would opt for whichever will provide you options for chilling the tank. If you go topless with the Viper, and you have high temperatures in your home, you will probably not even be able to run the lamp. Plan ahead, incorporate a chiller now. I don't know if the chiller they offer is good or not, but you need to figure what the highest temperature of your ambient room air is during the day, then choose a chiller that will bring your tank down from that temperature to 80 degrees.

Good luck,

Oh, and you'll DEFINITELY want an auto-top off with those temperatures!

I would go with the hood, upgraded lights and fans, chiller and ATO.

My 12g NC has the 70W Viper lamp and no hood. If the temperature in the room exceeds 80 degrees, I cannot use the lamp.. the water starts to heat up like a jacuzzi.
