torch coral growing new tips

So I am having an issue with a torch that I have in my QT. The parameters are all normal and the torch looks nice and puffy with its tentacles sweeping. Today I noticed that some of the tentacles are growing a second tip almost like its branching off of its self. Is this how it grows or is there something weird going on?

100% frogspawn...atleast it sounds like it...torches dont have any polyp growing off of it...someone might of sold you torch, but sounds like frogspawn...its hard to tell the difference when the frag is young.

So here are the frags. Both these frags were one head that got broken into three pieces during shipping. They were in rough shape but I have been trying to nurse them back to health. Aside from the mutation that they are going through and one of the smaller pieces that didn't survive the trauma melting into a pile of goop last week, they have been looking pretty good.

Reviving an old thread. :)

I bought what's supposed to be a torch, too, and it has some branched tentacles that apparently were hiding in the store. Maybe 10 percent of them have multiple tips. But no matter what the flow is like, the tentacles are long and slender and not frogspawn-like at all (other than those few with the multiple tips). I've read in a few places that "a torch never has branched tentacles," which confused the matter more.

Here's mine. And of course the multi-tipped tentacles hid for the camera.
