Torch Coral - head detaching?

I had my torch (2 headed) in an area with way too much flow. A day after moving it i noticed one of the heads detaching from the skeleton. Two days later now, the head completely detached and is stuck in the rock work. The head itself looks ok - no browning or jelly, seems healthy just smaller and not fully extending. Is this some strange form of reproduction? Is it a goner and should i remove it?

Its called polyp bailout. It can live but chaces are slim because it will float around. Make a barrair around it on a rock and maybe it will survive. Use putty or somthing
