Torch coral Problem

I bought a branching neon torch last Thurs. (I, of course, didn't qt it). Everything was fine until yesterday afternoon when I saw some gunk on one of the branches. On brushing it off, I found the one branch suddenly totally bleached! I assume this is "brown jelly infection." Early this morn., I found the next branch to be totally gone and bleached too- this happened overnight, as it was extended before the lights went off, and now is totally bleached. I plan to do a Seachem Coral dip- then place in qt. Any other suggestions or feedback?
Thank you, Dawn

Aaron- I read this thread. I looked in Borneman's book and followed the instructions- brush off sloughing tissue, put in coral dip, remove infected branches- by this time there were 3 out of 6. I put it in QT. The recession instantly stopped, This was Thurs. morning, and I put it back in the reef yesterday afternoon. So far it is looking great. The brain and frogspawns were not affected. The reason I asked about the salt, is that when I was cleaning the salt off a powerhead, some crusted pieces accidently fell in that area. Sometimes we never know why things happen in a captive reef..
