Torch Coral Sting or Disease (Brooklynella)

Need some advise.....

I purchased a True Percula clown last week and after acclimating it for about 2 hours, introduced it into my tank. I had an existing True Percula clown in the tank and was hoping they would pair. The next day I noticed that the new clown had been in a fight (Presumably with the old clown) and had some of its fins ripped. None the less, both the new and the old clown started getting along and swimming together, eating well and generally doing well. Yesterday I noticed that the new clown had started hosting in my large torch coral and spend the entire night in the coral. This afternoon when the lights came on, I noticed two small white areas on its body (midway) with a white puffy cotton like growth on it. I tried catching the clown with a clear container by offering it food but was unsuccessful. I fed the tank after this and it ate well. After swimming around for a while, the white cotton like things came off his body and I noticed a slight discoloration on his scales. I would like to know if the white stuff might be Brooklynella or just a sting from the torch. Pics are in my gallery labelled Clown1, Clown2 and Clown3.

Thanks for your help.....

It's hard to say. If you see the peeling on him all over, chances are it is Brook but from what I see, it doesn't appear like that. As long as he/she is eating, it's a good sign but once it stops it is very difficult to save and they go down quick.

I had a clown tonight die on me. It had the signs of Brook but the odd thing is I've had it over 2 years. No other fish show any signs and no new additions in a few weeks. I'm curious on why but no one was able to give me an answer.

I would just keep an eye on it. If you notice fast breathing or loss of appetite, you will need to dip in formalin every other day I believe for 30 minutes. Post if you notice him getting worse and I'll get you exact directions.
