Torch coral

I had a torch coral that had 5 lg heads and before I knew it or realized It my copper banded butterfly was picking at it and I'm down to 1 head. Should I fray the good head off or leave them all alone. Will it grow more heads or what this seems to be a harder coral for me to get right, the sun corals frogspawn brains and galaxia coral are wonderful just that torch

if the heads the coral are are complely devoid of tissue, then yes, you can break them off as they are gone IMO. keep tyeh good head you have and if you have good water, it will come back. the head can split and it will grow more. it can also sprout little tiny heads off the main stalk.

the biggest thing with these is if there is tissue growing down the outside of the stalk, not just the pretty head. if you dont have that good tissue, then you will likely lose the coral. My old hammer and frogspawn had about 1" of tissue down their stalks.

also have you seperated the fish from the coral>

Sometimes the skeleton may seem dead, but it may not be dead at all. I had a frogspawn that died on me when I moved. I left the skeleton within my tank, one day it just sprung a new baby head, now it's a size of a softball.

All that's correct, But If there is any sign of Disease on the dead heads It's better to cut them off than risk spreading it to the healthy head. Brown jelly like disease is common in those type of corals.
