Torch Corals

About how big do they get? And around how far do they reach relative to their size? Besides their sting and the room they need, is there any concerns in keeping them?

Well like all coral, it never stops growing. But with torches in particular, they are large and in charge from the get go able to sweep some decent distances.

From my experience and what I have read online, they need about 3 to 5 inches around them free of other corals. They grow at a similar rate as Frogspawns, maybe a bit slower. They do have long sweepers which is why I recommend the 5 inches around them.

Good luck.

My wife loves torch corals. We have a couple in our reef tank. The sweepers on them do get ridiculously long so use caution

They can increase the length of tentacles on one side to reach something they don't like. Give it 6".

I would say the indo torches might grow as fast as frogspawn but my experience is the australian grow quite slow (generically referring to thick branch as australian and thin as info). Tentacles on thick branch also seem in my experience to have a greater damage radius but also seem a bit more sensitive. just my 2 cents
