Torch questions

Will all torches get along? I have 5 different types of torches that touch each other with no problem. I recently purchased this awesome "indo pacific" colored large what we assumed is a torch.

I acclimated it slowly and then added it into my torch forest collection and every torch stung it.

Are their any frogspawns that have a torch like look to them? Reason why I ask it cause the frogspawns I have don't sting it.

The torch I purchases looks just like a torch. It has long one colored tentacles with white ball tips.

Thanks

Hmmmm, do try to get a picture if you can of it. I'm curious, because they usually do get along but I would believe it's possible for Torches from different parts of the ocean to have different stinging properties. It would not surprise me if that's the case.

There are some euphylia hybrids too . Generally euphylia glabrescens(torches) do well together . I have one that stings others though, perhaps its a hybrid with anchora( hammer) ordivisa( frogspawn).

It's about the nematocysts (stinging cells) . Typically euphylia of the same species have nematocysts that are similar enough that the coral being attacked just takes them in for it's own arsenal,. If they vary they will hurt it. Since we keep stuff from all over the world there is always a risk of alelopathic responses.
