Torch VS GSP?

who will win?

i dont want either to get hurt..but i am having a hard time finding an ideal place for the torch...so far the best place is a couple inches away from my GSP but i am sure it is well within striking distance...i dont kow how big this particular frag of torch will open yet as it hasnt done so in my tank yet...it went in shortly before lights out...

on a side note will torch coral beat up on my kenya trees? colt corals or leathers?

for the most part the torch is above all the other corals so unless it reaches down it wont hit anything but my GSP

The torch will win all those battles. A torch has a pretty intense sting

second that. torches can be nasty. if you cant find a spot for him you might have to do some reallocating of your corals, picking something you dont like and trading it in or something. if you have other torch corals, most of the time euphyllia does not sting other euphyllia so it could go next to that (with some close monitoring at first, of course)

thanks guys...i was pretty familiar with the punch a torch could throw...i have had them befor and watched them stretch across the tank to smoke a couple acros...but i wasnt sure with the softies, as i know they are pretty volatile corals too...

at any rate i moved the colt coral over a bit and moved the torch over...now it has a good 6" of space all around it...other then below it...my devils hand leather is right below it...

a torche can kill with one sting i have seen a healthy clown go down in a instant from one.but the gsp with start to go chemically back at the torche so keep both a distance or return one cause they will just grow and make less room

Agreed. Euphylia in general are pretty potent. Frogspawn definitely kept GSP in check in my tank where they grew into one another (not necessarily a bad thing). I have used a torch to keep anthelia in check before too. Does a great job of slowing them down and thinning them out. Sometimes their aggression can be used in a constructive manner :lmao:
