Torch vs. Torch

Hey guys,

I bought 2 small frags, one of hammer and one torch coral. I read plenty of posts saying that they could be placed close together but that doesn't seem to be the case! the tentacles on the torch are slowly reaching for the hammer

So my question, Can I replace the hammer frag with a different color variety of torch beside the mean torch I currently have? With the two fight torch v torch?

And Secondly, How many inches or how much space should I leave around a branching torch for it to grow?

My experience is that from the euphyllia group hammer and frogspawn can go close and that's about it (and still it's a risk) torch and hammer is a no. That's the general rule of thumb but I've had a torch kill a torch and a hammer kill a frog spawn so each individual coral might vary. If you don't fell adventurous I'd say what every site out there says about 6 inches away for the sweepers not to reach each other...

I have my indo torch and my frogspawn close and they don't bother eachother at all everyone is fully extended and touching with no issue

Even though torches, hammers and frogspawn are all Euphyllia they can't all be next to each other. You can put hammers and frogspawn together and all torches together but never put a torch next to a hammer or frogspawn.

Sometimes you can get away with it but it's not a given that the torch will not sting the others at some point they will.
