Hi all,
My Derasa has a torn mantle. It's near the edge on one side an inch or so from the exhaust (clam is about 6" in length). I don't know if it was there when I bought it, it was open and looked good but I was in a hurry. The tear extends in about 1/2 inch or so from the edge fo the mantle. The clam acts normal, that area is held in a little more than the rest, but there's no sign of infection or odd behavior. The inner point of the tear is rounded, wich leads me to believe it happened before I brought it home.
How fast do clams normally take heal a tear like this? Anything other than good lighting and water quality I can do to speed it along?
Thanks,
-Jason
