Hey you guys... something pretty cool has happend to me...
a few weeks ago, there was a guy that came into the LFS that I work at with a ton of corals he didnt want anymore... he was an amature aquarist.
so He ended up haveing some shrooms, some BLAH polyps and among all of them was a brown, plain, half dead acro..
I thought, WELLL!!! WHO KNOWS... so I put it in one of our displays lighted by a 400Watt XM20K and 4 VHO bulbs... half actinics and half fifty fiftys...
WELL!... A month or two have past and it has SUPER colored up.... even more I was unaware of the species .. Just liked the nice blue color with green polyps...
So I fragged it and brought a nice 2/2.5 inch frag home... for free might I add
WELL....after some research I was amazed to learn that I got an AWSOME Blue/purple with green polyp TORT.... !WOOOO!...
It is under 440Watts of VHO half actinics half fifty fiftys and for three hours during the day 2 65watt duel daylight (*50% 6500K and 50% 10,000K) compacts...
It is doing Wonderfully... color is fine, and has remained fine..
and is growing quite quickly to my surprise under such different lighting...
I have also purchased an AWSOME Yellow and baby blue tipped acro that I dont know the species of yet... and we will see how it does..
both acros are about 3 or 4 inches from the waters surface...
My VHO blubs are fairly new, only a few months old...
I am very excited about this....
How much would a 2.5inch frag of this Acro Tort cost???
just wondering and excited!
