I am completely new to saltwater. I've had freshwater tanks for about 13 years but never salt. I'm currently considering turning one of my 30gal freshwater tanks into a saltwater tank. I'm trying to get as much info as I can before even deciding for sure if I'm going to do this or not.
I would like to start off with a 30gal fish only set up. Basically I would like to know what equipment I need and what steps I need to take to convert my tank. I'm hoping to do this in the easiest and least expensive way I can. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

Thanks
Sheila

That is the best thing you could ever do....you're leaps and bounds ahead of many others by doing that. Even after you decide to do it (which you will!) keep researching before taking the plunge.

i dont no what those links says but saltwater is going to cost you money, research is the key, but you will love it

Thanks for the help. I've decided to put the saltwater thing temporarily on hold. I think I will wait until I can dedicate a larger tank to it, but until then I plan on putting some money away so when the time comes I can do this thing right:) . Thanks again, I'll probably keep on this site so I can research until the day comes:cool:

 Sheila.

Having the money and equipment available is always best before getting into this hobby. It will pay off in the long run.

I figured that was the smart thing to do. I have al ot of experience & equipment on the freshwater side so that should help. But it would be nice to have a pot of cash set aside just for this project.

Just remember, when planning any type of project, your final cost will be twice what you had originally though.. :)
