I am embarressed to ask but....

I havent really used durso's that much and got to thinking about my new setup.

in the event of a power outage, the air intake hole at the top of the durso will break the back-siphon, right?

I am 99% sure it will , I just havent really put much thought into it and wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

PS. I guess you can call me Jessica on this one

Well, not only that, but the level in your tank would fall below the level of the overflows, so it wouldn't be able to get any more water anyway. So you're double covered.

i am an idiot!

too many things going on in my head now.....

I was thinking about the drain and return and......nevermind.

Mods please delete this post.....I dont want to waste anymore peoples brains cells.:D

Ok since this is already posted can I also ask a ?. My prop tank has a stand pipe but no overflow box. I'm getting a lot of slushing sound and gurgling. I've tried many hole sizes for the air intake but can't figure it out. I also tried raising the hose higher in the water incase it was backpressure but still no fix. Is it because I don't have an over flow box? If not what can I do? My main tank has the same design but has an over flow box and its super silent.

I think the overflow box keeps the water at a consitant level, if your Durso is not in an overflow, the water probably is not staying consistant. That is my guess.
