Touched a torch for the first time

i was moving some rock and stuff around in my tank. (i always wear gloves) My forearm rubbed against one of my torches. Ill never make this mistake again. I know im not the only one on here who has!

I gave my hammer a thumbs up at one point when it was young. Luckily it didn't get me too good, but I certainly felt it.

I have a couple friends who cant get near some coral without getting stung. I am always elbows deep in frag tanks and help with shipments at my LFS as well. Have yet to find anything that can sting me. Sensitive skin maybe?

I constantly touch my torch(orange plate that gets hand fed is on the sandbed behind it), I get nothing from it. Same as any of my other corals.

I do get a slight tingle when I have a cut on my hand and stick it in the tank. I chalk that up to saltwater though.

yep, feels like electricity at first and scares you, but its not. Typically the cuticle cuts give this sensation. Reef on

Hugged a line connecting a mooring bouy to the reef once while diving in the BVI. I was new and held on probably most of the way through my safety stop...

THAT's when I learned about Fire Coral! (Hint, it's aptly named!)

Jellyfish sting on the top lip feels pretty good too.

i can literally stick my finger into the midst of my torch coral's tentacles (no gloves) and nothing will happen.

please dont hate, i never plan to do this again

I do tend to have fair/sensitive skin. It gave me a little jolt and ended up with a callous on my thumb that was kind of like a light brush burn.

Nothing too serious, but I make sure to wear gloves whenever I'm in the tank.

I was stung by my hammer coral tonight.. very slight inflammation (1-2cm).. I'll be wearing gloves from now on. Are nitrile, powder free, gloves safe in the tank??

Weird. It must all be about our skin personally. I've touched tons of euphyllia with no reaction. But have heard a few people complain about the sting. Interesting how that happens. Worst thing that gave me a reaction was accidentally touching a bristleworm!

I moved my hammer several minutes ago. No reaction. One time my maxi mini sticked to my finger and nothing . I guess i am very lucky.
