Tough to remove algae.

So my DT has been cycling for over two months, I noticed the algae is now very strong and needs to be scraped off the front of the glass. Is this the path to coraline algae?

Also, got a kent pro II scraper, acrylic tank, pain in the *** to scrape and clean. Not very much, but once it builds up serious chore.

Any better ways to remove it?

Use a magnetic cleaner like a Mag Float and clean the sides more frequently before it becomes difficult to remove.

one algae does not turn into another so can't really say if it's on the path to coraline. Do you already have it in your tank? is it the same color? then maybe, and that's a bigger pain to get off the glass :P

you could try an old credit/debit card. those work well. but i don't know about the acrylic for sure. I have glass.
clean your glass as part of weekly chores and it won't be such a pain :)

I have used the acrylic mag float and scratched my tank without removing much algae. Lifegard algae scrub pads work much better and will keep your tank in good condition.
