toxin in zoas

i just bought my first coral LFS sold it to me as Green star polyp I placed it in my tank with bare hands now I find out that they are zoanthids so whats the deal now with the toxin am I in trouble

First thing: they lied to you or they don't know what they are talking about, don't shop there anymore.

Second thing: If you see something you like at a store, ask what it is then go home and research it a little. Buy a book, they are peer reviewed. The net is good but I could tell you that a zoanthid is a green clove polyp and how would you know. Do you just trust me?

About the toxin..... very rare. Don't work in your tank with an open wound. Use extra carbon in your filter after you frag the zoa's. Or buy some arm length gloves and don't lick your fingers!

toxin is not a big deal inless it gets into your blood stream.

eyes, open wounds, mouth, nose, stuff like that. I got squirted in the eye once, just washed really fast with water throughly. It was sore for a while but it got better.
