TR Clowns and RBTA hosting

I am unable to get any of the 6 of my tank raised True Percula Clowns interested in my RBTA. What are some tricks I can try?
Thanks

Bubbletip Anemone's are not a natural host anemone for A. Percula, so it is hit or miss in our aquariums to see them be hosted by BTA's.

So to answer your question, patience or get a natural host anemone for A. Percula.

I've noticed percs seem to love carpet nems in my personal experience. The only clowns I've ever had host an rbta was a maroon and clarkii clown. Doesn't mean percs won't ever host one cuz they will host hammer corals, torch corals and sometimes welso brain corals.

My false percs love my BTA, but it took them months for them to move in.

That's an awesome photo! I've certainly seen percs host BTA's however I just haven't been lucky enough to have any of mine go near them. Like I said before I've had them host some euphylia corals which isn't to uncommon I've heard. But I was shocked when a pair of mine hosted a green welso lol. But I'm sure I'll learn that's not uncommon either. Expect the unexpected I've learned.

get a small skunk or clarki clown. toss it in for a couple days to a week and let your other clowns watch it being hosted my a nem. take the skunk / clarki out, and watch the magic :) i've done this repeated and worked like a charm for me...

Thanks! I have a big Haddoni that the clowns just ignore, and I got it just for them. I have decided that Clowns are flakey and you cannot predict what they will do, kind of like a teenager! :fun5:

Gecko, thats a great idea i think i will try that. Sure beats hangin a pic or playing a video loop of clowns hosting lol. That is actually a suggestion i read!

Wow! If someone thought it, unfortunately I'm betting someone's done it. Sad

I think it depends on the clowns. I bought 5 TR occelaris clowns this weekend and they were hosting the BTA inside 48 hours.

Still, no luck. I might have to trade these in for some that are already used to anemones. Now I just have to catch them!
