Did it ever develop black on its tail or did it stay yellow?

That's weird. Did you look back on page 4 at the top few pictures the maze have black on the tails and then the picture you posted shows the same stage of the "maze" developing but have all yellow on the tail. I wonder what the difference in the two are

Yup I looked back.

I have seen lots of differences in these guys. I have seen somewhere that the maze is actually a hybrid of a blue stripe and blue dot and wonder if the the yield is the same as clownfish with a certain percentage being different etx

Crazy, they are stunning fish regardless. I just hadn't noticed the differences in them before, needless to say I will be paying more attention now

So in researching this the Maze angel is actually more of a hybrid fish and is not a 50/50 hybrid and that's why they are not readily available and you see different forma
