Trachyphyllia coral

I picked up a cool bright yellow, red, and blue Trachyphyllia at the swap. I've been feeding it every other night; small bits of coral food and krill, the thing is a pig. Tonight I added some Gracilaria macro-algae to my system. The freaking coral was catching little bits (half-inch long) of it and eating it. I've been watching it and it seems to really like the stuff...I find this kind'a crazy. Anyone ever seen coral eat Veg?

cheers, Tom

ok, but its gonna be a crappy iPhone video. I feed it tomorrow so this is happening.

Also I hooked up my PH meter last weekend. I know its not calibrated, I am ordering a new probe and stuff later this week. I get a repeatable 8.2-3 test during the morning and the meter shows 6.20 mid day my Salifert test shows 8.0 and the meter shows 5.91ish between 5pm and 6:30pm my ATO will do a fill of Ro/Di and kalkwasser and the level will then test at 8.2 and show on the meter 6.10. Is this ok, or to unstable? My SPS seem to like it, the tabling Acro and stag have taken off and every Monti seems to be growing but PE is not great and the Acro's colors are less then amaze-balls.

I love the my run on sentence; semi-colons can kiss my ***.

I broke an algae wafer in half and dropped it in the tank for my Starry Blenny. He's an airhead, and missed them both, but two of my Rock Flower Nem's didn't! They snagged em up and swallowed em in about 2 minutes. I think they've grown 1/2" in the week since then!

Ok, well...as of this morning its eaten macro-algae and a clownfish. My loved black Fiji snowflake is now in its belly.

I still like the coral, just dang-it why my beloved Black clown, he was awesome, he was super active and all over the tank doing stuff. I guess the coral just didn't want to host.

tom.

He was healthy last night when I fed. Maybe he swam into the mp10 but I doubt it. The female snowflake has been beating up on him pretty bad but stopped a few days ago, they seemed like they were getting ready to spawn but now hes food. Bummer. Shes bright and healthy, maybe she killed him last night.
