It was inevitable. There was some sort of open brain in my future and now there is a Trachyphyllia in my present. Here is the left side:

Now that I've got the initial photo session with it out of the way I will try some focus stacking with it as my next photo project. Unfortunately I have some other priorities at the moment.

Very nice. I love open brains, they were one of my favorite corals when I kept a reef tank.

Patent pending!

aquariumclown, focus stacking is taking multiple pictures of the same image with a slight difference in where the focus is set. Those images are combined into one image with software and everything is in focus.

Stacking huh.....is there a handy thread about combining multiple pictures like I assume that Reef Bass has done. Which by the way looks awesome....BRAVO!

Actually I shot this with a high fstop (18) to get the DOF that I did. Thanks for mistaking it for being stacked.
