Hey folks,

I just got back from Lowes and got every thing except flooring to finish the fish room.

I have the electrician coming to add the 2 20 amp circuits.

I'm looking for help ruffing in, hanging and finish drywall and painting.

I hope to have it all finished this week end.

Even if you are DIY challenged you can lift and hold stuff. I need help moving the stand for the 150 out of the room.

Ill have Pizza and beer and even toss in a few frags.

The demo starts tonight.

I've got a ball game tonight, my son has a ballgame tomorrow, but I could stop by for a while after that. Give me a call.

Thanks

Thanks

First I would like to thank Bruce (Brucem) and Mike (lookout888) for all the help and great ideas.

The electrician put in 2 20 amp circuits with an outlet on the porch for the chiller, and switch for the can lights in an existing block wall.

We got the old ceiling torn out can lights installed insulation and furring strips installed.

Mike said as long as the ceiling was out that I should install an exhaust fan. I could not resist even though it was not in my budget.

The exhaust fan was a good idea.

I know the backing of the insulation is supposed to be a vapor barrier but looking at the size of the tank and the size of the room you might consider sealing off the moisture from the attic with an additional vapor barrier.

What kind of ceiling are you putting up ?

Greg sorry I could not get over today or yesterday. I will see about this week. I am going to try to get my plumbing re-done so i don’t have to worry about heat as much. Also my lights come in on Tuesday.

How far did you get.. Any update pictures?

Mike

Mike thanks for the help, I hope to be installing the floors next weekend

Yesterday we got the drywall hung, thanks Stephen (boydx6) and Nate (natec) for all the help and I hope you are not as soar as I am.

After Stephen and Nate left I decided to start on the Tape and mud. I got all the walls finished but couldn't raise my hands over my head long enough to do any real work on the ceiling, it was 12:30 so I just took a shower and went to bed.

This morning I was up early for work and the house was a wreck, drywall dust everywhere, I took a pick of last nights progress and headed out to get a sheet of drop cloth before I started sanding.

I didn't get any picks of the dust cloud but will snap one in the morning.

You going to tape/putty it yourself or hire it out ? I'm pretty good at taping drywall but I hate doing ceilings

I hate ceilings too, I have to sand and mud the ceiling tomorrow I hope to get it right cause white ceilings show all the flaws. Standing on a bucket with your arms up in the air for hours is tuff but getting dust in your face is just no fun.

I got a spray gun for the texture on the walls, I think it will work for the ceiling too.

Greg, that room is looking alot different form the last time I saw it. You guys are doing a great job. It is nice that you are being able to construct it as a room fo rthe tank and put in the necessary utilities instead of using what is a avilable.

Scott the electrical was almost non existent in that room and the electricity it had, shared the circuit with the rest of the living room/ dinning room and half of the kitchen. There wasn't enough amps left to handle a heater on the 65, not to mention there was no overhead lighting

As Mike said
As long as the ceiling is out you should install an exhaust fan.

There has been a few things that I had to do even though it was not in my budget.

I would help paint the stand but I've been working 6 days a week and on my day off I've been building canopies for friends. Sunday is my next day off, I'm suppose to go diving but If I don't maybe I can stop by.

Your welcome to use my sray gun and compressor (small 4gal) as long as you use acrylic based paint and clean it out good :)

I sanded all the joints and added another coat of mud and sanded again, textured the walls and ceiling. Tomorrow Ill clean up the mess and through on a few coats of paint and finish the electric.

It's starting to look really good Greg, coming together nicely. Lemme know when you're ready to move that 150.

Nate it's still in the middle of the living room as soon as I get the carport cleaned it is going out for paint. Anytime is good for me just give me a call.

Ok its all finished for now, tomorrow I'll pickup the flooring and save that for the weekend.

Here is the almost finished room.
