Training my yellow tang

So I currently have my new yellow tang in my QT (11 days) and he is very healthy, happy and eating everything I put in the tank! I was sitting here wondering how I could relieve my DT of some of the GHA I have growing. Would it be possible to try and train my yellow tang to eat GHA by pulling some off the rock from my DT and feeding it to him in the QT (he absolutely devours the seaweed I give him)? Would this be a bad idea seeing as how I would be transferring this nasty algae to my pristine QT? Just looking for some opinions on this

Most tangs or really any other fish will even touch the hair algae. You could try but you are risking infesting your QT tank.

Your best bet would be water changes(ro/di water) nitrate/phosphate filtration to get rid of the algae. Also if you do want something that may eat the algae try a sea hare, again this is only like a band aid and will not solve your algae problem.

My blue powder, Which I think is also a tang, eliminated all hair algae in two or three days. No training. I had him in QT for 5 days before moving him to the DT.
I think they graze algae in nature constantly.
Oh and I had tons of hair algae...
