Transfer to new tank

Got my 90 set up. Been up about six weeks. Cycle and diatoms complete. I still have my 29 running and it has 2 clowns, dottyback and puffer. I have two damsels and a chromis in the 90 and they've been in there about 3 weeks.

Water parameters are
Salinity 1.024
PH 8-8.2 (can't really tell)
Ammonia .2
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

Am I good to switch the old guys over?

Ammonia seems a little high. And if your tank has cycled, you should probably be seeing some nitrate unless you did a huge water change. Did you see ammonia and nitrite spikes and then a corresponding nitrate rise?

I like to dose ammonia chloride or ammonia hydroxide (dr tims or ammonia from Ace Hardware) to 2ppm and see how my system behaves. A fully cycled tank should be able to process that amount in 18-24 hours. Obviously, do this only if there is no livestock in the tank.

What brand of test kit are you using? If it is API it is likely a false positive on the ammonia, but you should have it checked at your local fish store. Any ammonia indicates the cycle is not complete and you should not have livestock in the tank.
