I purchased a trio of royal grammas. After about 9 or 10 days, they all died today. I believe it's marine velvet. However, yesterday when I was doing a water change, my controller stopped working on my display. So the coralife temp probe was taken out of my QT and placed in my sump display. I didn't know that the fish were not OK. I tested my water in the QT and pH was 8.1 and NH4 was undetectable. I didn't test the Nitrates or Nitrites, however. There was a slight temperature swing as the water changed occurred 0.5F. One of the royal grammas were not eating at all. There was a slight film over the 2 fish when they died.
How worries should one be in this situation? Would it be worth investing in an UV sterilizer for the 75 g display tank?
Or am I just paranoid?
