Transferring LR to new tank...?

Hey guys, so I'm transferring 3 rocks from my old existing tank into another tank I have but want to try and bring as little pests especially those little starfish that hang out on the glass over to the new tank. 1 rock has 4 anemones and zoas, the other rock has yumas and mushrooms, and the last rock has zoas. Is there a way I can dip them or do a freshwater dip or is there anything I can do to try and "clean up" for lack of a better term the rocks before transferring them to the other tank? I know anemones are fragile when it comes to dipping and things of that nature.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You could try a hyposalinity dip or a Coral RX dip. That always seems to get the pests off my frags. From what I understand freshwater dips on LR can cause more die off and lengthen the cycle.

I personally wouldn't risk it. Transferring is stressful enough. Transferring dipping trying to kill stuff just adds to it. Plus, if you dip you can't be totally assured you will kill off your pests. Also remember what kills pests sometimes will kill what you do want.

I don't think there is anything out there that might not kill the nems. And as mention before you will be killing everything including the good stuff. If you are looking to be 100% pest free you new tank should be setup with dry rock and cycled. Then remove nems from the rock and move over. Then you could dip your old rock with corals on it. If you are looking to only loose those little starfish maybe buy something that eats stars.

Those little white stars (Asterinas) are eating something. Adding something that will eat the "unwanted" stars will likely leave you with an abundance of something. who knows how wanted that something will be...
