Transferring skimmer; will bleach kill ick?

I need to move a skimmer from a former DT to my new DT, which has been cycling w/o a skimmer. I'm TTMing all the fish between the two tanks because I've had problems with ick in the old DT.

Can I soak the skimmer in bleach solution to totally kill the ick? I can also let it dry for a few days if need be, but I want it to be 100% ick-free, whatever that takes. What's the best method?

It's just an HOB Reef Octo skimmer, so I can completely submerge it in a 5g bucket.

Bleach solution should kill it. I would also physically scrub/wipe the surfaces of the skimmer with soft brush/towel. Rinse really well and let air dry.

you can use bleach if you want, soaking it in freshwater would achieve the same result.. ich can't surive for very long in freshwater.. give it a day if you want.. but I believe it's within hours all stages die off.
