Transformers?

Hi Roger. I'm wanting to upgrade my 6000's to 6100's. Could you guide me to a place that I could purchase a 6100 transformer? Also, how much do they cost?

TIA

Oh, and if there is anyone here that is reading this and may be interested in swapping a couple 6000 transformers for a couple 6100 transformers, then don't be shy. Feel free to PM me :)

The only place that has them in stock is Premium Aquatics. They are part 7410.602 and cost just under $70.

I recently upgraded. Woah Nellie. Big difference. I traded a guy my 6000 for a 6100, on Thursday I bought one from Premium Aquatics - I believe Jeremy said they had a few leftover. I'd call Monday first thing or email them asap.

Saw a transformer on Ebay Thursday but the auction is over. Think it went for less than $40. I agree with Fliger, E-mail PA with a pre-sale order for the transformers before they run out!

I almost won that auction, but I had to leave for work and got outbid by $1

I will be talking to Jeremy early next week. I'll talk to him about the tranformers then, though an aditional $140 on top of what I payed for two 6000's seems a bit excessive for me right now. But if I plan on upgrading through purchasing the transformers then I should probably hop on this opportunity, because there is no telling when we will get more transformers in when they are all sold out

That would be awesome if some kind soul decided to PM me to trade my 6000 transformers plus some $ for their 6100 transformers ;) . I'm willing to pay shipping both ways too :)

Yes but seeing as the 6100 is $70 more than a 6000 it is no different than if you bought the 6100 to begin with.

Hi Roger,

I have a pair of 7400/2's which consists of the 7240/2 pump, 7240/26 driver and the "7300.602 A" transformer. Will this transformer work on the Stream 6000 to 6100 upgrade? And while we're at it will the transformers from the 6000's work on my old 7400/2? Want to go from 2 7400/2's, 2 4002's on a 7094 and a Stream 6060 on my 180 to 2 Stream 6100's. Should un-clutter the tank nicely...what do you think?

Luis

With a 7300.602 transformer that is a 7300/2. A 6000 stream with that transformer would become an unofficial in between model, no such version exists but it would work. The 6000 transformers would make the 7300/2 into aa 7200/2. BTW, do you have a 6000 or a 6060? A 6060 cannot be changed at all.

I'm sorry Roger...The transformer I have on my 7400/2 IS the 7410.602A. I was trying to copy the info out of my manual. The manual actually calls it a "7400.602", but I read the correct number straight off the transformer itself. I was wondering why you were calling it a 7300/2! But anyway, I am planning to buy a pair of 6000's and swap the transformers with my 7400/2's. So if I understand this correctly, after doing so I will end up with a pair of Stream 6100's and a pair of 7200/2's.

I do have a 6060 in addition to 2 pairs of Turbelles in the tank and wanted to unclutter it by using just a pair of 6100's. I was thinking about leaving the 4002's since they really aren't that distracting in the tank, but look cool sitting on top!

Then yes, that will work. The correct part number is 7410.602. 7400.602 is the older 2 pin transformer. The 3 pin version simplified the driver and reduced heat production.
