Hey i have a question. I just bought a watchman a couple days ago for the nano- couldnt catch the one out of the big tank. Anyways- hes kinda white and wont eat. Is there something that I can do to get him to eat/color up?

Hi Dez,

Im not sure what to tell you....sounds like it is stressed. Is it sifting sand at all?

Try leaving the lights off and let it settle.

Sorry I cant help more.

Paul.

You would need to treat it like any other non-eating fish. Low stress environment, top notch water quality, and a variety of prepared, frozen, and live foods. Always make sure to watch closely for parasites and infections. Was it eating at the fish store before you took it home?

no.... I bought him at.... Petco. I know, thats bad... sorry, but I wanted one and they had a few. He was the biggest and most active. He hasnt come out- and wont eat flakes. What else do watchman eat? I have some frozen mysis/

it may well be diseased Dez, if it is, theres really not a lot that can be done.....sorry.

I would try as Travis has suggested, a variety of foods, but just a little at a time. Maybe even live brine shrimp.

Are there other fish in there with him?

P.

The worst part about Yellow Watchman Gobies and other like them that build a home in the substrate or rocks (IE Jawfish, Prawn Gobies, etc) is they often have to get nestled in before they even start to think about eating. Worst of all, they normally pick their first home as the hardest to get to and is often not viewable by the public.

theres a tomatoe clown in with him now- but I guess Ill just wait and see if he will chill out and eat. thanks guys!

My watchman wouldn't eat flake. Just pellets and only certain pellets. The live brine shrimp is a great idea. They should gobble that up.
