Treating popeye with Maracyn-two, nothing happening

My female saddleback clown developed popeye in her left eye a few days ago. Tank parameters hadn't changed, and the male is fine, so I'm not sure what triggered it - I think she may have tried to host the urchin and injured herself.
After reading lots of old posts here, I bought Maracyn-two and have been medicating her food. Twice a day I crush a tablet into 10ml of tank water, then soak pellets in the meds until they're soft. I've used this method with other fish before and it worked wonders, but her popeye only seems to be getting worse. Is there another medication I should consider? Thanks for any help.

That is not the preferred administering procedure for Maracyn Two.

The fish should be in a hospital tank and the tank water treated with Maracyn Two. Maracyn Two for Saltwater fishes is not intended for consumption/oral administration.

Orally introducing an antibiotic that is designed to go from the water into the fish tissue is counterproductive against Popeye. Oral administration doesn't accomplish this as well as a water treatment. Maracyn Two goes from the water into fish tissue which is what you want to do to fight Popeye.

Okay, thanks - looks like I got some bad advice. Basically what I learned was that treating the tank rather than feeding meds is similar to a human rubbing their penicillin prescription on their skin instead of swallowing it. Maybe I should have known better, fish aren't people ;) I'll treat them with the package directions and cross my fingers.

For Popeye, start the dosage at twice the dosage recommended, then double the next dose. After those two dosages, follow package instructions.
:)
