I just noticed what looks like 2 skin flukes on the head of my black cap basslet. The fish is eating like a champ is is not demonstrating any negative effects. Will the fish be able to beat these on its own? Does it need to be removed and FW dipped? Would a cleaner shrimp help with this? Can I treat the DT with something to effectively treat this? It is a mixed reef with an S. Gigantea anemone and all other fish do not show any signs of infection.

Flukes won't go away on their own. Get some Prazipro, the only negative effect in your DT will be on feather dusters. Freshwater dipping will confirm if its flukes or not and also will provided immediate relief. If left unchecked your fish will eventually stop eating and die from the flukes. Its estimated that 70% of all fish come in with flukes
Checked again at lights on and still no other fish seem affected. Also, the 2 that I saw on the black cap have not moved from the top of the head and there isn't any visible damage to the fish. I don't know if there is any way to confirm that they are, in fact, flukes. Any other possibilities of what it may be? Small sesame sized flatworm-looking things. I've tried getting a picture but not gonna happen.
