Hey everyone! So I have a large 180g that's been set up a good 6 months or so now. I transferred all my corals from my old to my new tank about 4 months ago. Since then all sps zoa's and lps look great. The only thing that seems to not be doing well are my toadstools. They seem to begin opening up and then rapidly lose all polyp extension. I've noticed all three of them seem to shed very frequently. Almost more then often I believe. Now the lighting wise I switched over from blueline phantom 150w LEDS over to AI 52 hydras, and there placed about mid in the tank.

did you acclimate the toadstool to the new lights? Whenever you switch bulbs, different lights I recommend always acclimate the corals. I think this what happen in your case, the new LEDs might be powerful than your old ones, different spectrum, different PAR. I recommend giving it a dip in something like Revive or Lugols and placing it on the sandbed for a couple of days to see how it does. Even midway in the tank, it might be getting too much light with the new lights. Hope that helps.

This along with the light change might have been too much for them. I would do as recommended, lower the coral or the lighting and feed more to get those nitrates up...

I noticed a little spirt of dino growth within my ats the past 2 days. I'm nervious I may not be getting a proper reading because of the dinos consuming nitrates. Should I try a little reef frenzy and see?
