Tree hit parents house. Need professional Contractor

Easily Distracted

I just found out that a couple of large trees from the neigbor's yard hit my parents house during the storm. I don't know the exact extent of the damage yet but I do know that one breeched their bedroom upstairs. They got out alright and are at a neighbor's house. Without getting into too much detail, they are both older and my mother is sick so my father really has his hands full. I'm trying to do what I can remotely until I can get back to LI to help.

The 1st thing I think is to shore up the damage to prevent more. Their house has been a life long project of theirs with a lot of irreplaceable work that has been done so the less damage the better.

The 2nd thing would be the repair/restoration of the house while working with the insurance company.

Does anyone have a contact or a strong recommendation for a licensed professional contractor that can handle one or both? Someone that you would have work on your parents house and totally trust. Thank you al in advance. -John

If you/they use a local insurance agent, they can often make solid recommendations. My in-laws are agents, and have told us of a few to avoid. Unfortunately, they are nowhere near LI.

Durabilt 395-2739 Joe buccilli . Tell him you know myself, Will from here on Reef central. He will cut you a deal. He's licensed and insured and part of the BBB.

Lammat- they are in Locust Valley near Bayville.

Thanks Will. I'll pass the info on.

To update- my dad is making out ok for what's going on. He got someone to remove the tree and put a tarp on the house. He got a couple of contractors look at it and thinks he knows who he is going to use. The insurance company promised someone would reach out within the next couple of days. Now they are trying to find somewhere with power to stay while the house is being rebuilt. As soon as gas becomes available again I'm going to going to head out there to try to help.
