tricinctus?

I know these aren't the best pics, but I wanted to confirm that these are tricinctus clowns. What do you guys think? I know for sure that they are not clarkii. They are much more golden and not so dark looking in person. Its cool how blue the stripes look in person!

not tricinctus. definitely chrysopterus.

I second the chrysopterus.
They are both often shipped in from the Marshal Islands. Maybe someone got confused.

Regardless they appear to be healthy and have vibrant coloring.

But the chrysopterus has a white tail, these guys are all gold with a darker main body. I'll try to get some side pics tonight.

As far as I know, they came from fiji as tricinctus.

A. chrysopterus has a yellow tailed and a white tailed variety. Not to mention, melanistic flavors, etc.

They are not tricinctus, regardless of what a shipping label stated.

youll find there are two main forms of chrysopterus: those with yellow tails and those with white tails. all of the fiji/tonga chrysopterus ive seen have always had the yellow tail...

Yes to allardi.

I am thinking an allardi of that size would at least be starting to have its tail turning white, starting at the top and moving towards the bottom.

The triangle I associate with allardi is a yellow triangle that is at the bottom of the caudal area before the tail.

Shu Tin, I was not referring to your specimens. I was hoping to use this thread to capture some of the ID points in relation to the first pictures posted on this thread.

I wanted to suggest, "Why is the 2 stripe clown on this thread not a bicinctus?"

fwiw: Your clown does not look like a bicinctus to me, but it does look like it is reacting to your haddoni by darkening up. Lets start a new thread just for you clown :>)
