Tricks to getting clowns to host

i have had my mated pair of ocellaris for 3 years now and i have a LTA in the tank for about a year now. they havent hosted to it yet but i have heard that some people have tricks to make them host to their NEM. one thing i have heard is to put a picture of a clownfish hosting to a nem and taping it to the glass for a few days. as the clowns would look at it, they would do the same. has anybody tried or heard of any tricks to getting clowns to host to a nem or a torch/frogspawn? or is there no hope....

Try pointing a light at the anemone at night when its dark in the tank. Try it a few nights in a row. They may never decide to be hosted by it. They are not a naural pair.

Im not saying it will but people have tried it with success. I guess the theory is it makes them notice it when they are looking for a place to sleep or protection.

i've found that ocellaris, especially tank bred ones, don't really have any natural instincts and it's common to have them not host anything. it may just be that they won't ever host.

On the other hand, there's always the possibility they might take a fancy to it eventually.

Personally, i like it better if they don't host because generally they just stay in it all day and night, and i prefer how mine explores the tank.
