Triggers/tusks and anemones?

I have a carpet anemone (6 inches in diameter) and a RBTA (about 3 inches in diamter).

I was wondering, Is it likely that the a trigger or tusk would pick at the anemones? I would most likely pick up either at a max size of 4 inches. Just dont want to get anything that would hurt my anemones.

My tusk and the pair of blue throats don't even look at the BTA anemone in my tank. Also if they get too close while I feed the anemone, the larger of my maroon clowns tends to ask them to leave the area. I introduced the anemone and clowns much later than the tusk and triggers. Didn't have any issues.

I would have some concern with a carpet, as they are more aggressive. If it was large and the fish small.....an expensive dinner could be served.

Well, my main concern is that my old stars and stripes desimated my last BTA, and to make it worse, it was fine for a week, and then I come home from school to find tenticles in everywhere and this look on the S+S puffer like "it wasnt me" while chewing on a tenticle....

I'd be more worried about the fish than about the anenome. A few years ago, I had a huge carpet that ate a 6" niger trigger.

I've had queens, blue line, undulate.....you name it with a carpet and never an issue. The fish never got ate, and the anemone never got touched.

Bluethroat is reef safe and won't touch the 'nems. The hawaiian black and pinktail will probably be OK. I would not trust the blueline. I would worry about the BTA more than the carpet.

What size were the fish? Was this in a tank?

The picasso was a little over 3".

The blueline was about 5".

Both were in aquaria. Each were in tanks in the 180g range (OK size for the picasso, too small for an adult blueline). Both were well fed.
