Triton method vs water changes

Hi all,

So I haven't set up my tank yet, but awhile ago Genesis was having a sale and I picked up the Genesis automatic water change system and storm auto top off. Out of nowhere I am seeing all sorts of stuff about the Triton method and how it completely eliminates the necessity of water changes. Is this the real deal? Can anyone offer some insight? The concept of zero water changes is definitely enticing, I may be past the return window for my Genesis though....

Well I'm seriously exploring and considering the Triton system for my new 150gal. I had a Biocube and made a ton of rookie mistakes. Then a 35gal with a sump and I have been chasing dKH with 2 part. I'd like to get others input on the Triton system as well.
