Tritoniopsis elegans - how long can I keep it?

I just got my live rock on Friday, and today I come home to see this white mass that magically appeared on the rock! I thought it was some sack of eggs until it started moving!!

I've ID it as a Tritoniopsis elegans, a soft coral eating nudibranch.

Since it will be at LEAST a month before I start adding corals, is it okay to keep it?

I just have a 12 gallon nano. Its so pretty and interesting I hate to kill it.

for a long time, maybe even 1-2 years, as long as you buy softcoral for it to feed on.

They make awesome pets.
