TRON's SPS Custom Rimless Pico

how is the skimmer treating you ... I have a similar tank that I have used a tunze 9002 on ... while it works, I hate the occasional whistling and average skimmate ... looks like the cad lights is rocking your setup .. is it well built? any negatives? are the mounting brackets easily adjustable? I just don't love the concept of it sticking up so high

It's working great for me. Not so much for one or two others, I think people are not sure on how to use the red lock knob, it isnt for locking down the skimmer, just to make it not wiggle loose... the build is great but because it is what it is, it has room for wiggle room, and can be finicky, but once you figure out those wiggles, you work with em, and dial in... took me a week, but look at this, the performance speaks for itself.... (and i personally had no missing part issues or any other problems)

the results do speak for themselves ... any issues with noise or microbubbles? also, is the performance significantly better than the tunze 9002

I had the airline mod on the Tunze, it constantly had this annoying "whistling" noise... so to me, thats noisy... This one has the muffler on the airline, so you dont hear anything! If you are next to it, you hear the rumble, but not noisy...(in my opinion)

microbubbles, alot on day 1, and throughout the tweaking process... its new, so yes... but being in chamber 1, they never made it to the return... but now I hardly see any....if any...

I found the foamhead to be much stronger, and much more consistent. my nitrates have dropped substantially, no number proof, but something in the range from 20ish, to around 1ppm... LOL

man this is a sweet set up. what happened to all the ora sps you had at the beginning. that skimmer is pulling some gnarly stuff out. looks like its working great for ya.

Thanks Matty, I had some issues with their vitality and longevity... They were extra sensitive and STN'd after several weeks and even a few months while other corals did well... The new skimmer will revolutionize the nano skimming industry.

dang that sucks. gow are some really nice zoas. love the pic of the week.

Ya they were some beautiful corals but not very "strong" corals, if that makes sense... and I cannot wait to see those GoW's grown in, and thanks, lots more to come.

Here are some quickies of the Old ORA stuff...

Thanks Jeff.

Im pleased with the better color appearance of the corals with the extra LEDs on the Radion. In general, it also has a better spread.
