Don't bother with the legal action...you won't get anywhere. You have already been given the best advice. Get straight with Jim, and mary will have to stand by what she says. Yes mary is the manager, but jim is the owner. As long as he says its alright you're good to go. Mary can't threaten you with the cops if the owner has given you permission to be in his store.

RSWrestler is exactly right.Thats the only way to go if you dont want to find another store(which I personally would)Be politie, explain your situation to the owner,if he is Ok then have him inform the manager so there is no other conflict she may try to use against you later.

And always remeber this is a hobby that may be lots of work but brings lots of enjoyment So never let her get under your skin She aint worth it

Talk to Jim the owner, letââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s not talk boycott until you get some clarification from him. Even though I don't shop at this store, if this is how they choose to treat regulars then I wonder how they treat every day customers? Definitely would make me want to visit the store less...

He was your friend and im sure you vouched he was a good guy....if it means that much do you to shop their why dont you offer to pay for the fish your buddy swiped.....jim and mary should know ALL employees steal....the cops cant KICK you out if you are not doing anything wrong but mary/jim can refuse to sell or help you if they wish....

This thread is NOT doing YOU any good if you wish to sort things out with the management

Why should he pay for something someone else stole? Sorry, that makes no sense for me.

What that kid did has nothing to do with this guy (if the story he gave us is true which I think it is).

The cops can/will make you leave the store if the manager calls and asks them to.

To the thread starter, its really simple. Go talk to the owner. If he says you can go in the store, then have him talk to the manager. If he says you cant go to the store, gotta find a new store.

lebowski

lebowski

Lebowski - a few things you refer to yourself as a kid therefore I get the feeling you feel to young to get their respect. So, I would first call the owner Jim and see if you can get his ok to go in the store. I would tell him how much of your money you have spent there.

or

I question this "Mary" person. She is lying and crazy from what you have wrote here. What is up with all that BS she is telling you about the cops taking finger prints. OK sure a cop is going to take prints for a $10 fish. IF they would what would they print? the tank, the net, the fish? if the guy worked there his prints would be on the first two, so that means nothing. She is trying to bully a "kid" as you call yourself. So take one of your folks once you have jim's blessing and go to the store. Let her call the cops and than tell them the owner of the store said it was ok for you to go there and they may call him if they like. One of your folks might want to have a word with marry about how it is not correct to blame you for something you had nothing to do with. Regardless of if you recommended this person or not! You are not responsible them unless they were your child and a minor.

Don't let them push you around for no reason.

Thanks for your input guys...

The reason I'm worried is because I told Mary that Jim has no problem with me being there and she said, " Well I do, and I'm Jim's manager"...

I'm still going to go in and talk to Jim..

The story I told you is 100% truth.. I had absolutely nothing to do with the fish being stolen and that is why I'm furious about the situation..

I dont' feel like I should be majorly effected by my stupid friends very poor judgment...

Better yet, call Jim and tell him Mary is his manager. If he is the owner, that will get him charged up. Then calmly explain that you were a good employee, changed to a good paying customer for years, like him, the service, the selection and the shop in general and really don't want to take your business elsewhere because of the actions of another. Get the owner's help.

1 last idea

1 last idea

you could print this thread and the amount of views it has had and mail it to Jim. Hemay find it interesting reading. He may not like the subject line though? If your story is 100% accurate....Go for it.

I think I'll talk to Jim this Wednesday when he's in and not Mary :)

I'll print this thread and let him know..

My story is 100% true.. don't know how to prove it to you guys, but I suppose you'll just have to trust me here..

I mean, if it was incriminating towards me, I don't think I'd post this..

Thanks for all your input guys...

I think that the title of this thread is rather innapropriate, because I don't feel like Jim should be victim of any of my criticisms towards Trops because of Mary...

I'm trying to get as many as people to get into this thread though... So that people know whats up and can assure me that I'm not wrong here...

That's the goods, right there! I know I'd be majorly peeved if one of my employees started going over my head!

At tempting as that seems guys, your aim should be to NOT start problems...you're just trying to be allowed back in the store. Too many times "one-upping" someone will backfire. Also, if it comes between you and mary--you will lose (right or wrong). Keep the main thing the main thing. You want to be allowed in trops, not cause problems.

On the flip side, I thinkt he owner of the store should know what she thinks of him.

I know if I was the owner, I would want to know that.

I think that is something that can be taken out of context very easily though. "I am jim's manager." I'm guessing that means that "jim made me the manager, so what I say goes while he's not here." I don't think she meant "I manage Jim."

If you decide you want to gamble on it, just know that you are risking not being allowed back.

You will get your last laugh if you are allowed back and mary will have to swallow it. Don't risk not being allowed back just so you can cause a problem

Very good point. Now that you bring that up, I would think thats what she meant. Although if he said that he spoke with Jim, and he said it was ok.... *shrug*

I think it all depends on how you mention it to him.

I'd be careful about printing this out.

IMO, simply state your case on your own merits. If I was Jim (I do own my own business.) there are parts in here I wouldn't appreciate.

Finally, don't go off the deep end on this. It's just a pet store.
