If you use Tropic Marin Salt, then is it still ideal to dose the above 2 products? (for an sps nano) Does the Tropic Marin Salt NOT cover the trace elements in those products? Are they simply after our money?
are you talking about K (potasium) if so then yes, TM has a low K levels I think its at 250-270. But most salts are also low in K. I think the highest was I.O. but was only 300. NSW is 380. Now what does the (A) stand for?
here is what I have notice from my exp. most salt mixes have all the element but not a good amount of them and as your corals grow they use them up. Some are used up faster then others, for instance I was having issues with coraline algea not growing in my tank well Gcarroll told me to dose some stronium and guess what my coraline algea started to grow. Also my Mg was dropping realy fast eventhough my salt tested good. So I then added Mg pellets to my Ca reactor and its been keeping my tank at 1300. So sometime you do need some more trace elements and that is why they sell them. You may not need them but sometime you do. Hope this helps.
