Trouble connecting Apex to internet

So I went through the updated user guide and used Henery's Fios router guide to set everything up. I can access my apex on my network but I called my Dad to log in and he can't gain access. I am at the part of the guide described as "putting it all together". When I type in my dyndns address from my computer I get my verizon router page instead of the apex page. I think that is my problem. My Dad just gets an error message on his computer at his house. I get the feeling that I am just one simple step from getting this to work but can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Keith

Local Address 192.168.1.50
Network Address 192.168.1.50
Public IP Address 108.0.0.174
Protocols Apex Web - TCP Any -> 1080

This is the info from my router "Port Forwarding" Menu

If I change my port 80 to another port. I will have to change the port forwarding to that port as well as what is in my apex correct? Does that new port need to be entered anywhere else besides the port forwarding and the apex?

that's what I have done with my apex and syslink wrt610n router,
and wrt610n got DDNS built-in, so I don't need another pc to run 24/7
to update public ip to dyndns.

Since making a lot of these changes I have not restarted my router. Would that help? Would I lose a lot of my progress and have to redo everything?

Rebooting did nothing. I still get the verizon page when I type in my dyndns.org page. Could it be an issue with my dyndns page? When I try to add a dynamic dns to my router I get a "At least one WAN device with IP address should exist" message.

yout dyndns doesn't work, you can acess through DNS name is because its in the home network, from outside, you souldn't access anything , even ur router.

what modem are you using? Is the modem with router function or just pure modem.
because i just solved my problem with this situation last night.

Its a modem with a router function (I think). Its a Verizon Ultraline Series 3. Model 9100EM.

So it sounds like my dyndns isn't working. Should I try and create another one and see if it works?

so you mean you only have one modem with router built-in?
and you apex connect to this modem, right?
maybe you need to try DMZ in your router to see if it's working,
In DMZ, setup you apex ip to it.

Yeah my apex connects via ethernet cable directly to the modem with built in router.
Ok my router DMZ is blank. I will enter in my apex ip....

Ok when I do that it says that the ip address already has a port forwarding rule and it will become redundant. Do I ignore that or is that a problem? Also, now when I go to my dyndns.org:80 site I get a blank web page that just says "It works!". I am on a mac by the way if that means anything.

Ok, then I am out of idea now, hope somebody will chime in to help you.

Do NOT use DMZ mode unless there is another firewall/router in the mix.
This will expose the Apex directly to the Internet on all ports.... not good.
