Hi!
I currently have one of those Jebo aquariums with a complete hood and everything and I wanted to install my lighting.
Now the aquarium is 1.26 cm long, 50 cm wide and 60 cm tall.
It came with 3 T8's and what I did was I took out 1 T8, put in a T5 and drilled a hole for another T5 so that I would end out with 2 T5's and 2 T8's..
My set up is
T5 10,000K white 54W
T5 Actinic Blue (forgot the K) 54W
T8 10,000K white 40W
T8 Blue (no idea how much K) 36W
As you can see this sucks
Now I was thinking of either taking out the T8's and installing another 2 T5's instead with 10,000K white and actinic blue or going with 2 T5's actinic blue, throwing away the aquarium hood and putting a 250W MH or something. Thing is about MH is that if i install it and there is no hood, it would blind me.
Now I'm not going to get any SPS corals or anything because they require very high lighting but I was thinking of getting some soft/LPS corals. Would 4 T5's be enough or one 250W MH and 2 T5's for most corals? Is there any kind of like chart that shows how much W each coral requires or something like that so that I could know which to buy?
Help?
Thanks a bunch!
Guy
